We the Assisi Sisters are entrusted with the mission of North India.We are engaged mainly in the uplift of the socially rejected like leprosy patients, Deaf and Blind and the mentally retarded.Assisi Asha Deep Education Society runs a special school for the mentally retarded children in Amravati and Aurangabad.Around 150 mentally retarded children mostly from poor families.The schools have committed special teachers, a full-time physiotherapist, speech therapist and psychologist.We at Asha Deep are working with a common cause of providing the under privileged with an opportunity to live with equality and dignity.We came up with a unique idea of bringing together the handicapped under one shed. We steadily extended our work horizon by launching projects relating to the rehabilitation of the disabled and downtrodden. We further engaged ourselves in the field of upgrading the standard of living and their rehabilitation.

We have established few institutions and training Centres for the disabled.Now the random survey done in few villages, we could find ample of adult mentally challenged children with the age limit from 16 to 25 years are sitting idle at home. And their condition is very pathetic.Considering the situation of the area we desire to take up another step for the adult mentally retarded to be self sufficient, within their limits and help the parents to reduce their tension and heavy burdens, we have started ASSISI ANUGRAHA VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE for the Adult mentally Challenged.

For the first phase we intend to build the boarding and compound wall so that the students can stay there and construct the actual Vocational Training Centre and staff quarter. We have 3 ½ acres of land for the same purpose.

At present we have 50 adult mentally challenged children who are regularly coming in the school. This is an urgent need to separate them because the existing building is not sufficient for both sections.

The students will get more time to prepare themselves towards work oriented programme. The task of making handicapped self reliant is the duty of all. Let us work together to achieve the same. Your contribution to this noble cause never goes unrewarded.

Hostel will provide comprehensive rehabilitation services for the adult mentally challenged Children. The main programme includes training in self care activities, Communication Skills. There are many children who lost both the parents with no brother or Sister. And the relatives are not giving any interest for these disabled children. Some children at home are not treated well or considering that they are human beings.

Really human respect and dignity are lost in our country. We wanted to bring these children who are under privileged and marginalized we are planning to develop individualized vocational Transition plan with the assistance of Vocational Staff.

The main aim of Vocational Curriculum is to help the students independent living and employment.
